A process of going through a lot, after doing Reiki , Year 2000. A lot was happening in my life, the process of unfurling, the gradual process of blooming, it took years and years.. Changes, transformations, the feelings of being in some other place, doing something else, rather than where I was...emotional turmoils, relationships, health, mental emotional, anxiety fear and securities, a sort of confusion before the storm. . .left my secure job as a teacher, did not know what the Universe had planned for me, just went with the flow! the abstract has been done with main focus of spiritual chakras, the crown chakra and the third eye. and journey was one trying... would paint alone in a small sector of my house, no one from outside than my close family knew I painted. Painting gave me respite from all the worldly matters and happenings, it was an outlet, a soul release , and a search for identity. . Not much of a social person, I loved to be in my shell, painting, my paintings then, from year 2000 to many years, 8 to 10, small sized and many , so many of them, in cubism. Main subject was self healing, Reiki healing and home. The techniques were abstracts, paper, folding, comb, textures and always spiritual themes and subjects. Old works were , Serenity, Planet of Love, Planet of peace, year 2000, Possessions Freedom (still have this), . The basic thought in making this painting was to awaken the chakras that would bring about wisdom, understanding, enlightenment. The base is quite messy, erratic, confusing, yet strong symbolic of each sector of my life turmoils, emerging beautifully from the chaos within to a much enlightenment being. The oils applied with confident energy strokes were then lined off energetically into the chaos by the end tip of the brush. Turquoise, French Ultramarine blue, white, purple, magenta, all form an amalgamation, as if blending all energies, making a muddy colour. the strong energy of continuing to paint in wet on wet, oils,(today I know oils are not for me, an impatient soul!) there are scribbles with end of the brush tips, combs, .over and over painting, of the chakra with , purple, violet, dark blue, the colours used are dull, muddy, as were all my oil paintings then, of previous years with art. Healing painting, with a whole lot happening in the backdrop of this spiritual abstract. The spiritual door, indicating hope, light , beauty of enlightenment. Spiritual enlightenment is a process of facing many hardships and sacrifices in worldly matters and emerging successfully as a complete whole. Reiki, Meditation and severe tapasya leading to enlarged Crown chakra and Third Eye Chakra. The symbolic opened door of positivity and the emotional turmoil in the background is aptly represented.
This painting is varnished and framed in acrylic , ready to hang. Quite a prized possession and a collectors treat. While today as the enlightenment has changed to a much more vibrant one, and yes as colours came into my life my life changed beautifully! I don't know what to say, that I changed my colors so my life changed or my life changed and so did the colors in my paintings!!
